His initial goal was to enhance his leadership skills at work as he felt stagnant in his current role. He had been in the same position for 7 years and felt like he was not making any progress. Over the first couple of months of coaching sessions, we began to create a plan for John's transformation. What did he want to achieve? What were the hurdles? What were the practical steps - both short term and medium term to action these changes. We went through a process of public speaking training and working on group communication skills. John gradually unlocked a newfound sense of self-assurance. He found himself stepping out of his comfort zone, taking on unexpected opportunities like speaking on conference panels - an accomplishment he never imagined he'd achieve. In particular, a once-strained relationship with his teenage daughter became more connected and trusting, leading to a more harmonious family dynamic. The family began playing Padel together regularly which resulted in quality family time, bringing them closer together as a unit, opening up channels of fun and constructive conversation, and the family became physically healthier too. Each week they played together, away from electronic devices, work, school and other distractions to just connect as a family. This created a deep bond between the family, and brought a better work-life balance. The physical health improvements also had a remarkable improvement on John's confidence.
